We thought staying in the old town we would be close to the attractions. The location of this hotel is good for the old town but you aren't really close to the new part of town which is where most things seem to be happening. Having looked at other hotels in the area there were many five star hotels for not much more expensive than this one. Hence why I didn't think it was necessarily value for money. The shower in the room was pretty bad. It would have been easier to shower if I got my boyfriend to pour water over my head from a bottle! Breakfast was really good and staff were very friendly. Our room had a staircase that went up to where the bed was. These stairs were steep and were difficult to climb up and down. They left little gifts for us every day which was nice. Overall I can imagine you might like this hotel if you're backpacking or if you're after a quirky place to stay. But if you're after luxury, a working shower and don't want to climb up and down steep stairs every day this probably isn't the place for you.
