Great value, if you don't pay standard price
This hotel is now 20 yrs old, but the room I had was very nice (even though decor is a bit dated). The building has been well looked after and is very clean...public spaces almost sparkle. Only significant problem was extremely weak WiFi in the hotel room, making it difficult to get work done. WiFi is a bit stronger in public areas, but watch for mosquitoes biting your ankles in the evening if you are sitting near the lobby to access WIFi.
Bed was very comfortable (new mattress). I enjoyed the well equipped gym. It's not huge, but is bigger than some. Pool area is nice for sitting and reading the newspaper, 3 floors above the parking lot called Sathorn Road.
Good location near Convent Road, and 10 minute or so walk to SkyTrain at Saladeng Station.
I got a great rate through Agoda, so it was cheaper than many other places that aren't as nice. Having breakfast included in the booking would have cost another $20 at time of booking, which seemed at bit much for one person. So I skipped the pre-paid breakfast option. At the hotel, they charge $13 per person for the buffet breakfast for those who haven't had breakfast included in their reservation. That was still too much for me, so I had lunch instead from alacarte menu and saved money.
