Good Sukhumvit downtown hotel

Booked a basic room but they put us on 15th floor with view over pool. Lovely room with free fruit and macaroons. Nice bathroom and supersize dbl bed. Lifts are fast in the hotel also. Good secure parking in a multi-storey to side of hotel. Swimming pool was clean but should really be bigger for the size of this hotel. Breakfast was good and plenty of western and Thai choice and coffee served to table very good. However, the bacon has the consistency of jerky which was a shame.
As a note for travellers wishing to use taxis: Do not use the ones outside the hotel as they will not put their meter on (yes they are breaking the law as stipulated and clarified by the recent military government)so dont pay these cheats. So simple to do: Wait at the entrance of hotel and ask Bell boy for the FREE hotel tuk tuk to the front of the soi where it meets the main road of Sukhumvit and simply flag a taxi down there who will put their meter on.
