Remote place

The most expensive hotel of our stay in Thailand, yet not the best. We were disapointed, and consider the Hotel is not good value for money.





Very far from other points of interest, difficult to get to, and even more difficult to leave from, so get ready to stay in the hotel full time during you stay, including all meals.
Yes, the staff is nice and welcoming (but that seems to be a standard in Thaliand) but then the room is "average", no amenities, shower inside a large not very appealing bathtub.
Although good weater and hotel occupancy not full, The Spa was always fully booked (and not possible to book 2 pedicure at same time anyway because I was told there is ony one therapist to do this... this is not a 5 star service for a "Spa" hotel in asia)


Also I booked the hotel for my birtday, and we did mention it to staff management upon arrival. In the evening we had dinner with champagne and wine but we were surprised the managment did not do anything special to celebrate. I had experienced all kind of nice "gifts" in other hotels for such occasions, from free drinks to little spa voucher to flower in the room or candle on your desert ...but we had nothing like it at the Anantara... they just brought the gift my boyfriend asked them to bring at the table at the end of dinner and that is it...well OK, it is not mandatory to do something special but would have been nice.

Then comes the very good point, the hotel is hosting a private elephant camp where you can enjoy "mahout training wich is 100% great, nice staff and fantasic experience. Hotel pool area is worth it as well, charming, cosy and relaxing.

But then 2 times a day shuttle service is very poor service as there is virtually no other way out!! On the day of check out we asked the hotel for a taxi but it was extremely complicated, the staff asked us if we had a taxi phone number (??) then called it and said it would take 1h to come, then offered the shuttle of the hotel for a very expens
