Wonderful Stay!

This charming little resort has really captured our heart and we have stayed in millions of hotels around the world. We were driving on our way from Phuket to Chiang Mai, just planning to stop by Ranong to do our Visa run. Didn’t expect this resort really surpass our expectations. It’s tucked away in the heart of a tropical rainforest. You can feel the temperature is little cooler than in downtown Ranong. During the day, you could hear the cicadas singing in the forest. At night, you could smell the jasmine flowers in the air, see the stars in the sky, and hear the owls and the Tuko geckos calling. It’s more like a retreat other than a hotel. The room is bit small, but it was very clean and has everything we needed, i.e., WIFI, hot shower, A/C, kettle etc. The bed was very comfortable, even for three of us. (We have a 7-year old.) From the window, I could see the mangosteen trees and a jackfruit tree, even with fruit on it, and a whole bunch of other fruit trees or flowering trees which I couldn’t name. They also own a restaurant just across the road, which serves free breakfast. Breakfast was great, western style with real bacons and freshly cooked just for you. The owner asked us every day: “When would you like to have breakfast tomorrow?” When I arrived after quite a drive, my head hurt a bit, I must looked a bit cross, but the staff were all every friendly and wasn’t offended anything, like what I would expect if this was in North America. The whole experience was just so refreshing. Of course, this resort is not for anyone, they only have 7 villas anyhow. Surely not for some party animals, but rather for some nature lovers or someone looking for a peaceful retreat. A tip for other fellow travellers, If the A/C getting too cold at night, just turn it off and open the windows.
