Its located on a wonderful beach. One of the best in Phuket, in my opinion. After 3 nights, we changed to a little cheaper, but still 5* hotel(rennaissance) Boy did we regret it. It was nothing like The Surin. We liked it so much here, that we canceled our booking there and came back to the Surin the same day. Hotel is surrounded by luscious green tropical forest, located on white sand beach, water is the loveliest shade. There is enough sun lounges even on the busiest peak time (few days before Christmas) as the whole beech is for the hotel. Breakfast is ok, plenty of fresh juice and fruit. Amazing ocean view from breakfast restaurant. Lovely beech restaurant (although pricey) on a green lawn on a beech. Cosy bungallows, free international calls (UK, US, France etc). Lots of steps to the beach but dont be put off by that if you have no walking disabilities. Very calm location, no annoying long tale boat noise. All in all, its truly lovely!
