Excellent hotel
This hotel is in full view from anywhere along this straight stretch of main road which makes it easy to find anytime. The staff were pleasant and spoke good enough English for my needs. I found the room with twin beds ideal, comfy bed, firm mattress, air con which I had on each night at 23 - 25 degrees, new water each day, bar size fridge. I bought a small milk because coffee mate is the go and it's foul. I only had one decent coffee in Thailand in 2 weeks as everywhere has cold drinks as it's so hot of course but I got sick of all the plastic. Block out curtains = sleeping very easy. I was in rm 306, facing north/south which was cool in the heat. Breakfast is ample, cooked as well as continental. Wifi kept dropping out, but everywhere around also has it so you can access it easily enough. It's not enough to put you off Rakkawan. Even though the hotel is east of the main road, it was built after the tsunami and feels fresh and welcoming. Lovely to return to each day. Recommended.
