Changpai Hill was a great place for us to stay. We loved it so much, we ended up extending two more nights than originally planned. Although outside of the actual town of Pai, the location is still great. You get to be away from the loud backpackers roaming the streets but can also walk into town if you want to join them. This place is up on a hill, and if you stay in the room with a terrace and have a motorbike, be prepared for some daunting uphill and downhill drives.
Breakfast provided on a terrace overlooking the hills of Pai is hard to beat, and was easily one of our best stays in all of our hotel experiences throughout Thailand and the rest of SE Asia.
