We stayed for one night in a double room with a balcony and we wish we could’ve stayed longer but had to catch the slow boat to Laos.
Pros - huge room, big comfy bed, big balcony with fantastic views over the Mekong River, room service (recommend the Korean chicken and rice), powerful shower, lovely fresh decor, bedding was crisp, extremely clean, across road from best bar in town, friendly staff with great advice and tips.
Cons - the water in the shower wasn’t hot and after a night of air con it wasn’t nice to shower in cold water, we had a bit of a delay waiting for breakfast but the owners did explain that someone had called in sick (hey we’ve all worked in hospitality, we get it)
We even booked a ride to the border with the hostel for 160TBH for 2 people. They had options of booking the slow boat package but we opted to do it ourselves and save money and tbh it was easy to do.
