Fab beachfront room & great snorkelling!

Enjoyed 2 nights at the Sai Daeng Resort. The room was lovely. We had a great balcony with views of the ocean and stars at night. We booked a beachfront room, as we were traveling with our inflatable paddle boards, and wanted to have easy access to the beach and storage for the paddle boards. The resort provides free shuttles from the ferry to the resort (on arrival), and then back into town if you want to go out for dinner. Snorkelling was great - we saw reef sharks and a turtle, plus fish. The coral isn't great - but very good for Thailand - but the water is clear. Recommend paddling out to Shark Island, I think the resort rents out kayaks or you can take a boat trip. They also provide free snorkelling equipment if you don't have your own. Enjoyed breakfast in the terrace restaurant, and cocktails down by the beach. Friendly and helpful staff. There's lots of stairs at the resort, so just make sure you're ok with that. Lovely location, and would definitely go back :).
