Restful and Peaceful off-season escape
Location: Right smack on top of the beach, but there is not a lot of beach - and none at high tide! Sea View Villa is delightful, almost private at the front with an idyllic view.
The room (sea view villa) has an indoor and outdoor rain shower and an outdoor whirlpool bath. All very clean and fortunately few mosquitos.
Staff are friendly, though most struggle to communicate well in English which can be frustrating.
Not sure I would call this a 'family-run' place - everyone we met were employed staff, and it doesn't have that 'Mine Host' feel to it.
There's mention of room service on the description - but no menu and essentially it's whatever is from the restaurant and during those hours.
Housekeeping are thorough and the place is kept very clean and well maintained.
Breakfast is good with a good range offered and strong coffee.
It was very quiet and probably less than a quarter full this last week of August. The weather of fresh blustery winds and even downpour of rain was fine sheltering outside or in our villa and watching the pounding waves.
It's about 12 minutes steady walk to the market and the majority of shops and eateries. Mostly European and South East Asian clientelle which is a welcome change for many.
If you are a couple and want to rest and refresh and stare at the ocean then I highly recommend this place for off-season (one of the few open). And off-season prices are very competitive.
