If you're open to being in the hustle and bustle of the Old City walls in Chiang Mai this is the best value for money for financially cautious travelers.
The grounds are a renovated old colonial building with historic pieces throughout. You'll be welcomed by the garden corridor and swept into the common reception area, which also houses the pool area a few steps away.
The staff are tremendously helpful. We had some minor issues that were solved quickly and efficiently.
Do not pass up the food and snacks that are complimentary to your stay here. Everything we've had from breakfast to the afternoon snack items have been delicious. The breakfast menu has a wide variety of food, from traditional Western breakfast (the waffles are to die for), to Thai, Idian, or Italian items. Fresh pressed juices and coffee to order.
The location is within the Old City walls and is within walking distance to any sites you're after. A cab out of the city walls can run from 200B+.
