Fabulous affordable hotel in a resorts only area
This place is brilliant and the hotel staff is lovely, helpful and speak great English!, but it's in a resorts only area. If you like to spend your time inside the hotel, then this is good value for money. However as soon as you leave the hotel, there is not even a proper road. Please note that the beach right outside is ok for sunbathing, but there are so many stones in the water that it's unusable for bathing. The beach itself isn't nice, but hey you're most likely alone (as you'd want to go to another nearby beach). It's really out of the way - I tried to book a rock climbing tour and the tour operators wouldn't pick me up! Resorts only area! (The hotel offered me to drive me about 25 min to Ao Nang, for 50$AUS- I thought that was a bit pricey. There is a cute little raggae bar called Rastafari Bar only 200m walk from the hotel - be sure to check them out. Lovely Thai owner with a swiss girl friend. They were opening the week I was leaving. The most authentic people! There are also 3 little places to get amazing pad thai from (heaps cheaper than from inside the hotel). Hotel has about 3 free bicycles that can be used.
