Great location with excellent staff

Great resort situated right at the intersection of Kata and Karon beaches (on Karon side). Makes for breathtaking sea views of waves crashing into the rocks. Direct beach access from hotel is also a major plus. Staff were very courteous and friendly, and beach bar/restaurant had some excellent choices as well. Clean rooms with decently stocked mini-bar and other amenities (however, no iron. This had to be requested)
Only couple of drawbacks: - No elevators in the hotel. Granted, it's only 3 floors, but as I had badly sprained my ankle on my last night, it was quite a chore to navigate up and down the steps. -The hotel values it's laundry bag very much, as we were not allowed to take it with us (usually put our dirty clothes in it during a hotel stay and take with us). This was the first time we were asked to return it, and had to unpack our stuff at reception. -Taxi service to airport is exorbitantly high from hotel (~40% higher than normal taxi metered fare).
