I wanted to like Pawapi more than I did -- especially at the high season -- I expected more. The owner is very nice; however, he seems to be running the place on his own which leads to some gaps in service. He's also the only one who speaks English so if you arrive when he's not there (as I did) be prepared to figure things out on your own as there is no written information provided in the rooms (map, restaurant hours, etc.) There are about 10 simple, rustic (no A/C or hot water) bungalows located right on the beach. Fans are provided and they are clean and perfectly comfortable, though I would have like to have my room cleaned during my stay (no daily maid service?). When I was there the grounds were a bit of a mess with several ongoing construction projects. This will be a nice place if the owner can fix the service issues, fix up the grounds, and perhaps provide a little decor/color in the bungalows.
