Disappointing

The photos of this place look twice as good than it actually is. The hotel is run down, the restaurant food is bad, the tiny beach is rocky and un-swimmable and the hot water in the shower only worked half the time. The location is really bad. You can't walk to anything and have to pay for a taxi to go everywhere. So the small amount saved on a budget place like this is quickly lost on taxi fares (min. 100baht per person each way). The thing is, it's not even that cheap compared to other places on the island that have far better beaches, food, service, and access to shops for the same price or less! And don't bother paying extra like we did for a superior room (as opposed to superior hotel) we were given a hotel room anyway. We moved to a resort in Thong Sala area halfway through our stay at Koh Phangan. We paid the same nightly rate for somewhere at least 3 times better. To be fair, the rooms are clean and they do provide nice reading material in the rooms
