Ok, but unhelpful staff

The room was fine, and big, but pretty expensive for what it was. Clean, but someone definitely had smoked in there. I wouldn’t bother to write a complaint if the staff wasn’t so unhelpful and rude when I tried to check in. I was told on checkin I needed to leave 1000THB in cash, but I didn’t have that much on me, and I couldn’t withdraw more due to a card issue. I offered several options, such as leaving my passport, paying by card (“our system doesn’t support cards”), leaving my credit card with them... they refused and said 1000THB in cash was the only thing they would accept, and that was standard at all hotels in Thailand (it isn’t). I waited around in the lobby trying to figure out what to do until finally I begged them to accept a bank transfer which they finally did. Basically totally unhelpful and impolite.

Great value, flexible accommodation.
