Stay-cation !

We live just north of BKK and so just wanted a weekend where we could indulge in some decadent pampering. The Athenee fitted the bill. We stayed at the club/ executive level and as we wanted a comfy big bed, a nice chilled out pool vibe, a gym and great service and we got just that. We went outside the hotel in the late evenings but did enjoy their afternoon tea and cocktail hour of free alcoholic beverages. Amazing how many drinks you can fit into 2 hours!! Nothing was too difficult for the staff. The rooms were spacious and well maintained and it felt like Thailand and not one of these corporate hotels that could be anywhere in the globe. So, for great service, free snacks, drinks throughout the day (alcohol later) and for great service I would recommend the Meridien Athenee!
