great location, solid hotel

Solid hotel, definitely a good choice, but not my favorite. Hotel is showing some of its age, so I would rank it more as a high 4 star, but not a 5. The service was excellent though. Had a room on the executive floor which was nice as well. Pool area is modern and comfortable. Bathroom was a bit unimpressive shower head wise especially for something billed as 5 star. Also as a western chain hotel the prices for food, booze, and room service were way over inflated. Made me appreciate the more realistic prices of my usual local 5 star bangkok hotel. Still when my first choice is not available I would certainly consider the Westin as the location is great and service excellent. Breakfast buffet was suprerb as well.
