Basic but clean and in a great location!

For $55/night not including breakfast, we were overpaying I think. The resort is somewhat run down and could use a massive makeover. Rooms are very basic, hard beds and dated/ratty bedding. You get ratty, torn towels (only one per person unless you ask for more; no hand towels or bath mat). Use same towel for beach and shower. The staff is very kind but do not speak much English and not very knowledgeable in terms of tourist information like transportation around the island, ferry and boat info, where to rent bicycles, where to get healthy food, etc. For this info you're better off going to a tour booking office across the street. The best things about this resort are the balconies on the rooms, the pools and the location. We would probably stay again as there didn't seem many better options directly on the beach in Lamai, but it did seem rather overpriced for what you get.
