I have been to Lamai twice a year for the last 5 years and I have stayed in Marina Villa all but 2 times. It is very conveniently located and suited my needs; however I feel that it is starting to let itself slide.I have noticed that sheets and towels aren’t as clean as they used to be (a bit of starch can always help) also, light and shower fittings were coming loose. When I checked in this time I had to go back to reception to ask for toilet roll and there was also no complementary toiletries in the room (there always was before and it took nearly 5 days for housekeeping to leave them in the bathroom). A lot of the rooms could also so with a lick of paint.I know all this sounds a bit petty but when you are paying that amount of money (I stayed for nearly 3 weeks) you expect a certain kind of standard. I was disappointed with my stay this time and unfortunately I think the next time I travel to Lamai I will be looking for different accommodation which is not what I want to do but feel I have too. ‘Sometimes it’s the little things that make a holiday
