Inexpensive hotel needs a clean-up
We were disappointed by this hotel, although our expectations were not high, considering the low price. We arrived late at night and were tired, so we didn't feel like searching for a better hotel. The first thing we noticed was that the bed sheets were dirty and needed to be changed, there were dirty smudges on some of the walls, and the bathroom could easily have been cleaner.
The hotel owner is an older Chinese gentleman who lives behind the hotel and seems to be a very good guy, but he needs to hire better staff to man the front desk and do the dirty work. He was the only one that spoke any English. He should hire a few people to have the place cleaned-up, and then he could justify charging a bit more for the rooms.
The hotel location is not very attractive. It is near a Makro store and there are no decent restaurants within walking distance. I was pleased to find that my rental car had not been broken into when I got up in the morning.
The free breakfast was disappointing -- a strange mix of a few western items (basically toast and jam, scrambled eggs), and some Thai stews that would be more appropriate for lunch or dinner. Maybe I should have tried the Thai stuff since I like Thai food, but I just didn't feel like eating that so early in the morning.
