don't even go there
I booked into Sam's as was visiting with friends for Rememberance Sunday and an additional traveller meant booking additional accomodation. I usually stay in Noble Night, Tara or My Home but were all full so ended up booking Sam's as it was close to my friends. I decided to take this guest house as it was a little more expensive than My Home.
I was in a wooden hut that was in the river accessible by a steel constructed walkway.
Although traditional Thai style the "cottage" was extremely tired looking and in need of completely stripping out and re-fitted. We had twin beds that were cheap, uncomfortable and dread to think what was living inside the matress.
The shower room was not at all pleasent. You just had to get in and get out again.
If you are a back packer on a budget then there are far cheaper and better options available locally so be prepared.
On the good side I did see some newer type chalet style accomodation near the entrance which may be better.
BEWARE OF THE DOGS, I think the owners have a few dogs which hang about the reception area and bark wildly and viscously at you as you walk past. Not my best guest house experience and wouldn't return.
