Nice first impression
My friend and I moved from the center of Pai to House of Love for 3 nights because we wanted to be a little removed for part of our trip. When we first got to House of Love we were really excited because the property is super cute, with lots of quirky statues everywhere and sitting areas with shade to relax. It took about 10 minutes for anyone to help us though and we found this to be a pattern throughout our stay there. It was very hard to find anyone working there most of the time. The room was ok, the air conditioning worked really well but the bed was the hardest bed I've ever slept on. I've lived in Thailand for over 1 year so I know what hard beds are like - this one was exceptionally hard and my friend and I woke up every morning with hurt backs. We also encountered a dead lizard in the bathroom when we arrived and a cockroach, not a big deal though. Throughout our stay the owner was very friendly and even brought us dinner 1 night because it was pouring rain and their restaurant is closed during low season, so we couldn't get food. On our last day we were catching the 4:30 bus out and check out was at noon. We figured since we were literally the only ones staying at the property they'd have no issue with giving us a late check out, even until 1 or 2 but unfortunately they couldn't accommodate. Our stay was ok but I definitely think there are many other places in Pai to stay that are a bit better quality for the same price!
