Value for money in a very basic accommodation along Jedyod Road, parallel to & 1 block from the main road. The rooms face a garden. My room - 12A (room 13 doesn't exist) has adequate size. The bathroom occupies a third of the room: dry, clean, newly tiled. My room has a fan and big springy bed, far from the best I've had in my 15-hotel, 3 week travels but it's good for its rate. I'd suggest a little table in the room because its kinda spare - just bed and fan and nothing else. No dresser or chair or anywhere I could read or write. They have a restaurant which opens 7:30AM. The owner is friendly. If you book for a taxi to the airport - 200B, she will mostly drive you, and I had a pleasant time chatting with her on the way to the airport. Classy Thai lady and quite knowledgeable too. We chatrted about the airport, expansion, Thai politics, the floods, etc.
The guesthouse is near Jedyod Temple; the road opposite this temple leads to the Clock Tower. There's an internet cafe along the same road at 40 an hour. Jedyod Street is lined by restaurants and dodgy massage bars. If budget is a concern, Ban Bua is an acceptable option although nearby City Home Guest house at the adjacent street is closer to the bus station and has a little more amenities to speak of.
The place enjoys full capacity most of the time so book ahead. Most guests are Europeans.
