ok for one night despite the staff

The room was adequate, although small, with a fridge and reasonably comfortable bed. The bathroom was musty and lacked ventilation. The river view from the balcony, if you ignored the bus station, was very pleasant and a nice place to sit and observe the comings and goings of the golden triangle. We would have given this guesthouse a 3 star review if the staff had not been so grumpy and unhelpful.We were unimpressed by the golden triangle in general but felt The Hall of Opium was so excellent that it made the trip worthwhile. There are very few budget places to stay here so it is acceptable for the night if you ignore the terrible attitude of the staff.
