Free breakfast & swimming pool

We came to Kanchanaburi from Hua Hin by van and the van driver brought us to Pong Phen from Kanchanaburi van station for an extra 100 baht. We came just before 10pm and the reception was still open. They greeted us with a smile and a welcome drink. They do not require any deposits but if you lose the key card, you will be fined 400 baht and if you separate the keys from the key card, you will be fined 300 baht. The reception closed down a short while after we checked in, however there was a guy outside for any queries or assistance.
The room was quite spacious but the washroom was bit disappointing, there were free shower caps provided but no free soap or shampoos which did not make sense. Free towels are provided though. They also provide free water and soft drinks in a mini fridge found inside the room.
The complimentary breakfast was fulfilling, they provide you with a choice of a drink [coffee, tea or fruit juice] along with a meal [they have some options such as toast with sausage, fruit mixture & rice noodle soup]. You can order extra toast for 30 baht and smoothies for 60 baht.
The place's exterior is nicely decorated with many props and plants. The swimming pool is large but there were dead leaves and some hairs floating on the water. From the open balcony outside, you cannot catch a proper view of River Kwai, all you will see is a small canal filled with hyacinths. The place becomes full of mosquitoes at night.
The place is located at Soi Bangladesh and when we told the reception lady that we were actually from Bangladesh, she was surprised and smiled. There are plenty of eating places, massage parlors, some locally licensed transport hire services [do not hire any transport from drivers that stand on the main road like hawks, they will overcharge you and will not take you to places if they don't fall in the areas of their already prescribed travel routes because they might miss out on commissions, if you want to craft your own itinerary, go to the
