Good location - price is right for what you get

the guest house is located down a quiet lane but in the middle of the ex-pat/tourist area of kanchanaburi, 10 minutes walk to the railway station. their accomodation ranges from backbacker rooms to air-conditioned rooms with the usual private facilities and a river view (where i stayed). i was there for 5 days - they only clean the room if you ask them, which is not a bad idea (no early morning knocks on the door by housekeeping). reception area, restaurant, etc provides food, drink, information etc at reasonable price and the terrace & swimming pool never crowded and great place to relax in the sun. no safe deposits in rooms though there are some draws in reception you can lock valuables into, if you provide your own padlock - not very secure overnight, though (best to bring it back into your room while you sleep). good free wi-fi available throughout the guest house. overall, i recommend the place.
