Lovely rooms, pool. Great location, Friendly staff

Spent three nights at Pong Phen. Stayed in a triple room, in the motel part of the complex (there are also some beautiful separate bungalows, along with some poolside rooms) The complex is located at the back of the block, away from Mae Nam Kwae Rd itself, backing onto the river. It is a mere 10-15 minute walk south of the bridge, associated markets and floating restaurants.

The swimming pool comes off the combined reception/restaurant area, with bungalows located opposite and 2 storey motel unit nestled behind. The restaurant is relaxed and open to the air, with furniture made from large natural pieces of wood. Breakfasts were generous sized and tasty. The staff were very pleasant.
