If your stay at Koh Samui is only for a short period of time, of your whole vacation, do yourself a favor and stay at Cosi!
It is centrally located, clean and modern, nice rooftop swimming pool and "bar" (vending machine, but with a lot of options). GREAT wifi, and overall a great room with a lot of space.
ONLY negative is that the beach is SO close, but getting there is so hard, since all of the resorts are blocking the way to the beach, and you are not allowed to go through them. - but there is an empty lot a little bit further down on the road, where you can go through.
Notice that this area is SO touristy though. It opens for a lot of restaurants opportunities, but also overpriced stuff.
