Got charged for sth which wasn’t our fault


got greeted nicely when we got there, breakfast small but staff in general friendly and helpful. for me personally i had to sleep with earplugs due to the very loud music from the bars, which wasn’t a big deal for me. Sadly to see how one bad thing destroys all other good things :/
The stay was okay, location good HOWEVER, left with the baddest impression. In the last evening we made some cup noodles and the water kettle was placed so closely to the mirror which we didn’t pay attention to. Out of a sudden we heard a crack and due to the hot water steam coming out of the kettle the mirror got a crack. we told them at the check out, running out of time. they let us wait in the car for the transport. after 10min i went back and asked what is happening:
‘YOU have to pay 3000TBH’ was the answer. We were shocked, for sth which was not our fault? How the whole situation was handled, was highly unprofessional and all we got was: this has never happened in 20 years, insisting for us to pay or wanting to call the police!!! For 20 years experience you would expect at least a customer oriented complain handling but that was not the case. 3 people standing in front of us, staring at us, saying nothing only waiting for us to pay. Making us feel we destroyed a MIRROR on purpose and did whatever in the room?? Still running out of time. We both worked long time in customer service and the whole behavior of the staff was so shocking and unprofessional, 0 understanding.
Sad to leave customers with such a bad last memory having to rush to the airport now and leaving krabi with a disappointing experience.
My advice, take an insurance who covers things like that and don’t let customers stay there being honest about what happened and make them feel they have thrown a wild party in the room and destroyed it.
