Peace, quiet and nature

Montalay is on tanote bay, Koh Tao. It has the best snorkeling off the beach on the island. I stayed for 3 days. The restaurant is basic but the menu offers more than other resorts in the bay. (Other two restaurants with good review in the bay were closed) this spot can feel quite isolating as it is away from any main tourist areas but that is what I loved about it. Small tropical huts nestled in the trees, surrounded by nature, just me and the beach. It has a small pool, diving center and basic beach bar. Also a pick up truck serves as you taxi and pier transfers service 3 times a day. The sand is rough and like most Asian tropics the surrounding waters are still battling the build up of plastic pollution. If you go for a snorkel, do your part and take some out of the water, for the fish’s sake.

It is a nice place at a very quiet beach. Nice snorkeling just in front. No boat trip needed.
