Clean Bungalow, Great Breakfast, Quiet Location
We really enjoyed our stay at Montalay. Our bungalow was clean and the A/C worked. Water pressure was poor in the shower but it was hot. The breakfast was great (almost too much food). Everything we ate off the menu was delicious. Our only complaint was the shuttle/taxi service. They pick you up for free from the pier (they provide one-way for free). However, we were packed in the back of a pick up with loads of luggage and not enough room for all the people. It was very uncomfortable. The hotel then charges you 150baht a person to take a shuttle at their given times to the ferry or Sariee beach area. We were traveling with another family with 3 children (children were half price) but we paid 825baht to go one way to Sariee beach and were crowded into a pickup. We booked our own taxi back for 600baht and had the whole taxi to ourselves. We arranged to use him again the next day to go to the ferry. I'm not sure the hotel appreciated this but they need to rethink their fees and shuttle arrangement in my opinion. Otherwise the hotel was very nice, the staff were very accommodating and we enjoyed our stay.
