I've stayed at this hotel for over 25yrs. This time I made my booking via Agoda 8 months before departure. I cant fault Agoda. My booking was confirmed twice by them. However , trying to contact the hotel through messaging via the Agoda app was useless. The hotel confirmed my request for second floor and smoking. When I arrived, I was placed on the 5th floor at the top of the hotel and had to demand my request for smoking. That was responded to by a bucket on the balcony with sand for cigarettes. I eventually got my ashtray in the room which I'm used to on second floor. OK, I'm a smoker, but they did confirm my requests at the time of booking which were not honoured. Next, the staff. They really couldn't care less about their residents. The mini bar is now empty. I asked at reception about this. Bluntly, they said stock it up yourself from the 7/11 shop outside. The noise outside on one occasion was umbeareable. The bass rattled the walls of the hotel until 3am.
