Great hotel for families

My husband and I had a great stay here with our two children (aged 5 and 3 years old). It's really well set up for all the family to have a good time - our kids loved playing in the kids pool and splash area and we were able to sit nearby and watch them. They also enjoyed the kids club and we utilised the babysitting service so that we could leave our youngest there too for a couple of hours (minimum age to be left unsupervised is 4 years old). We also took bikes out one morning and had a lovely cycle along the road stopping off at the JW Marriott for a drink on the way back. Although you can't use the pools and kids club at the JW Marriott, you can access the restaurants and bars there and the spa. It's very expensive compared to what is available outside of the hotel but I would highly recommend the spa, it's beautifully designed and I really enjoyed my whole experience there.
Breakfast was good - it's a relatively small hotel compared to some resorts so don't expect an enormous spread but we found it perfectly adequate and the coffee was great. We ate lunch at Delights and were very impressed with the food choice and quality there. We ate at the Andaman Grill at the JW one evening and had the most delicious steak. We ate in Zest another night from the special Thai menu - the food again was great.
We had one of the ground floor apartments with a pool and there was more than enough space for all of us, it was huge. It was nice to be able to sit on loungers by our own pool whilst the kids were napping in the room. Also the direct access from the gate of our terrace to the pool area and restaurants was really convenient. The room was very clean and well-equipped and we always had plenty of towels etc. My only complaint would be that it smelt very strongly of damp and you could feel the damp when sitting on the sofa etc. Also all of our clothes smelt when I was unpacking our cases when we got home.
