Pinky Bungalows is sweet
Pros:
-Good location mid-island so you are not too far from anything.
-Easy and cheap motorbike rentals right from the hotel.
-Awesome pool, not too busy and well-kept.
-The hotel's restaurant across the street makes great food.
-Great staff. The owner and her staff are very active and helpful. At the same time, they're also laid back and flexible depending on your circumstance (we had to change our room once and they were very accommodating).
-Got the best massage of my life from one of her masseuses. Very therapeutic and deep tissue.
-If you're into mushrooms they have mushroom shake places at the nearby beach bars, but the availability might be seasonal, not sure if they have them all year round.
Cons:
-Can't think of many cons, but it did seem slightly expensive for what we were paying for (it was high season, but still).
-It's not a secret, but the beach closest to Pinky is not suitable for swimming because of the rocks. There is a nearby beach about a 5-minute motorbike ride north of Pinky that is great for swimming.
Overall:
I would definitely stay there again. We got to see some of the other hotels/resorts on the island and Pinky Bungalows seemed superior.
Tips:
-The speedboat from Koh Lanta back to Phuket is MUCH more convenient than the ferry, which is overloaded with passengers and extremely slow. It is more expensive but I think it's totally worth it. You can book it from Pinky.
-Rent a motorbike and go check out Koh Lanta old town and other parts of the island. It was really fun.
