You get what you pay for

If you look for silence or travel with kids this place is not really for you. If you're a young party animal looking for a budget room i guess it's perfect.
In my personal experience I couldn't sleep at night because some kids had a drunk conversation the while night long under my door. But there's none to blame. It's Koh Phi Phi after all

Excellent budget hotel
