The Hotel (Grade A): The hotel grade is based on the hotel being rated as a three star, but was closer to being a four star hotel. The room and lobby area was clean. Service staff was gracious and polite. Most understood a little English, enough to get by. However, there always seemed to be at least one person at the front counter that spoke a little more. The hotel did not have a pool, but we rarely used pools at hotels. The breakfast buffet was typical for a three star hotel in Bangkok. However, the staff associated with the buffet was excellent. Very attentive. Location (Grade C): The hotel is located near the Bangkok Hospital. Next to the hospital is a small shopping mall with a 7-11 and American restaurants (Starbucks, McDonalds) with other restaurants serving more traditional Asian foods. The mall seemed popular with hospital staff. Other than the limited street vendors and even another 7-11 nearby, to explore the greater Bangkok area one needed transportation.
