Thai perfection with an English twist.
Leelawadee was a week of paradise for my partner and I. We were there in the off season, and had the run of the resort for most of the time we were there. Although difficult for the taxi driver to find (I suggest printing or loading a clear map before you get to Krabi), once we were there, the place delivered 110% of our expectations. The staff are English speaking (real English not Thai English!) and offered recommendations and assistance at every turn. Lovely people with a great skill and passion for hospitality.
Leelawadee is about 10-12 mins drive from Ao Nang Beach, and the resort will lend you a very simple scooter for per day (US$5). Otherwise car hire is very cheap and one needs little training about Thai traffic, as none of the locals seem to have had any either! Local markets are cheap and entertaining, and the in-room kitchen facilities make cooking a very cheap and easy way of traveling. And you can be assured that the Leelawadee staff will be the rare kind who are not trying to fleece you of your money. Honest, kind, generous and caring.
My partner and I would happily return at the drop of a hat to Leelawadee and I recommend you do too!
