Our stay here for 2 weeks in March was idyllic for us—serenity, homey touches of beauty everywhere, gorgeous beach, delicious food, friendly, and good service. We stayed in a chalet with a postcard view of the bay, which we enjoyed from our veranda morning, afternoon, and night. This quiet atmosphere allowed us to enjoy the unique bird sounds, cicadas, waves on the shore, wind in the palms. Though the coral in this bay is beautiful—especially on the east shore—tour boats just speed by to other bays. We kayaked to some ourselves. While the snorkeling in some was more spectacular, we preferred this more secluded spot—just the right number of people. We wondered if we’d be too hot with no A/C, but found the ocean breeze regularly cooled us. Screens were in good shape, so no mosquitoes, even though we often left our door open in the day. Rooms were simple but plenty for us, and were cleaned every 3 days, including fresh linen. There was no hot water—unless you showered mid-day. This too was no problem. The restaurant, bar (which served meals too) and lounge had wonderful views of the bay, plenty of shade and comfortable atmosphere. We really loved their Thai food; some Western dishes were quite tasty too. Very inexpensive meals.
