Mixed Feelings
First of all, the room I had was excellent! It was very comfortable, it had a great view, and the air con was good and the water hot! The Wifi was fine...no problem with the room.
Ban's dive resort is huge!! To get to my excellent room, I had to literally hike uphill for about 2 kilometers, and once I was there, if I wanted something, I had to hike back down. Sometimes the staff will take you up in a golf cart, but they stop doing that at 10:00 I think...anyway, I might have been out later than than enjoying the island's night life.
I went on 2 dives with their attached dive company, and they were some of the worst dives I have ever had! I have almost 200 logged dives, and these were just boring! I think they took me out with a bunch of beginning divers who were doing skills tests.
Overall, I've been to Koh Tao a few times, and in the future, I will stay at a smaller hotel and dive with a different dive company. Ban's has a good idea, but they've taken it waaaay too far!
