Ok as a last resort

I found this hotel lacking in many ways and am sure you could find much nicer places for the same price within the vicinity.

I stayed in a fan bungalow; the best thing about it was the large size with two single beds and private bathroom. However, one bed was infested with ants. When I said something to the staff they gave me spray to use myself, but the ants were back within an hour because they actually lived in the room. There was no follow up or concern about the issue so I accepted it as normal for Isara Lanta. The room had large gaping holes along the roof which allowed insects free rein and the window screens weren't fitted properly. The bathroom had only cold water with terrible water pressure and didn't drain well so there was always a puddle on the floor and sand in my hair.

The grounds around the bungalows are quite depressing with only a few struggling plants and lots of think sand where there should have been walking oaths and bushes.

The actual bar (which is also reception) was quite nice with comfortable and cute areas to lounge in and watch the beach. It seems that all the upkeep and investment has gone to this area and they have completely neglected the accommodations. While the bar area was nice, the food was average and more expensive than the surrounding restaurants (which also have better food). In addition, renting a scooter costs more here than other places on the island. The beach view is nice but it is very rocky and not the best beach on the island for swimming.

I wouldn't recommend this place. You could spend half as much for similar accommodation on the island or spend just a little more and get a nicer place. I didn't find the staff especially friendly or helpful. This place has potential but seems neglected and unloved.
