Amazing place, just needing a few basic upgrades.

We read so many mixed reports of the Tiger Huts before we left for Koh Chang, and were laughed at upon departure from the previous hotel(Sea View resort)when we told them where we were going!

We had booked two beach front sheds and this was definitely the most amazing position to wake up to on Koh Chang. Fantastic beach when the tide is out and great walks along it allowing you to discover some of the amazing little gems of bars and restaurants there.

Facilities were basic, very basic. Take something to make the old mattresses more comfortable, or ask for more blankets when you arrive. No hot water, and unsure why when all that is needed is to run the water through some black piping on the roof and hey presto! Lots of bugs. Had to hose down the toilet every time with the shower as lots of ants. Mosquito nets are provided and we had coils to burn which seemed to work a treat.

Food was cheap enough and tasty, but head out and find the stall across from 'Nid's' out on the main road, as this was some of the best and cheapest food we had in Thailand. Clean too!

Location is amazing, but you will really need to hire a moped to get out and about, as the resort is a mile or so down a single track road and taxis are not willing to come down and only take you a short distance.

Staff could be friendlier as they were unwilling to help on a few occasions, but hey we all have bad days right? Cheer up little guy!

Overall I would recommend Tiger Huts for peace and tranquillity, views and beach, but just remember that it takes a while to get used to having a cold shower each morning!! Also a tin of expanding foam or some Gaffa tape to plug the gaps and stop the bugs getting in would help!!
