Relaxing, no-frills accomodation but comfortable.
Very pleasant stay. I errorneously booked the wrong hotel (i wanted to book the other "Residence" Hotel), so i kinda panick when i realized i would be checking into "La Residence" but the stay turns out to be one of the most memorable stay in Bangkok. La Residence offers great value for money. The hotel may not offer everything ie. buffet spread breakfast, fancy toiletries or 1000TC bedsheets .... but you pay for what you need. The breakfast is very decent and tasty (but you may get tired of bread, eggs n bacon after 5 days of stay). They didnt replenish the toiletries (but i didnt ask them to replenish, i just get a bottle of shampoo and bathsoap from the Boots Pharmacy). The bedsheets are clean (but definitely not luxurious 1000TC type). All said, La Residence is a perfect hotel for guests who are looking for no-frills in a hotel. The rooms are clean, conversant hotel staff, good wifi and fairly decent access to public transport. The hotel is far away from all the shopping areas but BTS station is 10 walk away. There are buses nearby going to MBK / Siam Centre and Pratunam if you know your way around Silom / Surawongse area. I would be happy to stay at La Residence again for my future trip to BKK.
