Good experience - tainted by check in process
A great hotel in a great location with one of the better buffet breakfasts available. Had a wide variety of good quality food for both western and local tastes. The rooms were well appointed with multiple power sockets required in this day and age for the plethora of electronic equipment carried by travellers. Internet connection was available in wireless and broadband Ethernet cable connection and both were solid and made the stay more enjoyable.
On the downside the check in process was abysmal. We arrived at the hotel at 3pm and had to wait nearly 30 minutes till our room was ready. The receptionist assisting (aptly named Bum)had little interest in customer service or in our overall check in and upon complaining that I thought it had taken too long I was provided with the most insincere, almost sarcastic, apology. Not the best way to start off at this hotel.
Other than one individuals poor performance the rest of the staff were pleasant and accommodating. Unfortunately the poor performance of one reflected in the overall staff performance rating.
