It took us about 30 minutes walking to get to the centre of town (near ferry terminal). Bring study shoes or sandals to get through 200m of a forest path with stepping stones.
We stayed in the older part of the resort (room 4), which has some land settling of the bungalow. So the foundation was tilted to one side and it was necessary to use the lock on the door to keep the door to the bungalow closed. It can be a problem if you're a couple locking each other out of the room. It was very tiny but had a great balcony with a hammock and space to dry any laundry. It does have its own washroom, but to wash your hands and take a shower, you had to go outside (hence the problem with locking your partner in/out of the bungalow). Bring bug spray!
It is still a bit of a walk from the old part of the resort to the newer part where the reception is through some more uneven ground if luggage and disabilities are a concern. Free hourly boats to town depart reception area. 100 THB to return.
