Sukhothai's version of the hotel in The Shining

From the moment I checked in the huge hotel seemed empty. I asked the front desk at 7pm if the restraunt was open as there was no one there or anywhere else in or around the hotel. I was told Yes and that there were tour groups arriving. I ate with only one other guest with the waiters and cook chatting away in a distant corner. The hotel reminded me of film The Shining. It's empty corridors, lobby, bars etc. Choose anywhere else to stay in Sukhothai as it is between the new and the old. The shower is positioned about 5ft high. Too bad if you are any taller. The rooms are musty smelling.
