Wonderful Family Vacation

We just enjoyed a great 6 day stay at Slate with my two young children. The breakfast buffet is very yummy and the facilities is both unique and offers many activities for our family to enjoy. We had a family suite which met our needs perfectly. The hotel is was not overrun with large tour groups (a plus during Chinese New Year).
The staff went out of their way to meet our needs -- recognizing us by name after the first day. The concierge was very helpful in identifying the right tours for our family. And we did take advantage of a few activities offered by the Slate center -- paddleboard, bikes and waterball.
We really enjoyed that Nai Yang beach was right out side our back entrance which is a not overly developed beach area with outdoor restaurants and street vendors.
Slate is a 45 minutes taxi ride to Patong and Old Phuket so it is definitely not for those looking for active night activities. This was fine for our family situation -- there are many places to grab casual drinks at the hotel.
Overall cannot recommend Slate more and expect to be back again.
