Phob Phan hostel was spectacular. I've stayed at hostels all around and this place was hands down one of the best. The owners seemed like a family and lived in house. They prepared breakfast daily which was amazingly delicious. The beds were comfortable, clean, and sturdy (which is often not the case in hostels. It was a pretty quiet neighborhood and plus the heavy curtains made great sleep possible. My only complaint would be that the sewage smelled sometimes, which I think was more the neighborhood than the hostel. The location was a little hard to find late at night since it was tucked away in a side street but the building itself was very beautiful.
One last (positive) comment about the service: my international to Bangkok was delayed so my travel buddy and I arrived at the hostel past their check-in time. However some of the travelers showed us where to find our rooms and the owners let us check in and pay next morning. When we found out that Agoda had charged me an automatic no-show fee, the owners very willingly refunded my payment so that we didnt pay double the amount of our stay. In our experience around Thailand people are not always this honest with tourists so we were very grateful. If we come back to Bangkok we would DEFINITELY come back to stay here.
