Not the 'beachside accommodation' we'd thought we were getting
I had booked 2 "standard fan" (no breakfast included), but upon arrival we were offered an upgrade to "garden view" chalets...which I'm glad we took, as they were bigger and had small fridges and AC units in them.
"Garden view" chalets are NOWHERE near the beach (incidentally, nor are the "standard fan" rooms). From the beach itself, they're across the road, through the carpark, and then a 2-3min walk along a path. I wish this had been more clear in the description of the place. Our 'garden view' consisted of staff quarters and some bags of sand and cement. Atleast it was very quiet there.
On the plus side, the resort (it's not a 'resort') has a good restaurant and bar right on the beach, and a decent swimming pool. The staff speak pretty good English.
On the down side, the beds are VERY firm (think concrete slab with a couple of thick towels on top), the en suite shower was pitiful (think car windscreen washer that's almost run out), and the regular coffee (not out of the Nespresso machine) was like dishwater.
